Program Pilihan: Rethink Your Drink


This program piqued my interest because it is simple, and yet it can bring a significant change in our daily life. A lot of people are not yet calorie-conscious in our country, and some who do sometimes forget that their choice of drink contains a lot of calories too. Most of our teenagers and young adults like to drink sweet drinks with their meal like soda, juice or sweetened tea, some went to a coffee shop after their meal at the mall and order a large cup of blended café-latte with extra whipped-cream which they might not realize has the same amount of calorie as the food they've just eaten before, maybe even more. Now this program wants us to think twice before choosing our beverage, to help cut down our calorie-intake. Exercising this simple habit from a young age can lower our risk of suffering from obesity and type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, both are considered major health problems and are risk factors for cardiovascular diseases.
